Do you as a step parent ever step in?

What do you do as a step parent when you dont like the way your partners ex is treating them?

Do you ever step in and say something to the ex?

Do you take over the communication (but relate what your partner wants) because your partner is too non confrontational i guess you could say?




Ive been with dp for nearly 10 years. Ive confronted bm maybe 2 times since we have been together but that was for her wrong doing me.
But im starting to get to the point i know i am going to lose it at her because of how she is with dp. Pretty much i avoid going to anything where she will be now because its got to the stage i know i will just start on her and its something i know i will do without even realising ive started if you get what i mean, it will just come out and i wont be able to stop.

But the thing is i know if i step in, that bm will not try half the stuff she does with dp. She knows i wont stand up to her crap.
Ive tried with dp to make him stand up for himself since we got together, but hes just not that type of person. Hes a coulda, shoulda kinda person but when it comes down to it he just doesnt. And she knows that.
