Its difficult! Cause i dont see those things as advantages. Comparing skids and kids is like comparing apples and oranges. My my own child i dont need regular time off her, where as the skids i do. Its nice when i get a BD break but it isnt necessary. I would hate it to be a regular thing but with the skids i would hate it not to be a regular thing! But thats cause i find parenting so much more easier then step parenting. I think thats one advantage of a step family - after step parenting bio parenting is a breeze!

I don't know whether it's the sleep deprivation talking but atm I have NOTHING...
With 2 court cases coming up, a BM who is trying to ruin our easter plans, an SD who has decided to only be nice to me when she either wants food or when her dad is there to see, an SS who is teaching my BS3 how to wrestle violently, another lot of freshly bought socks and underwear magically disappearing to BM's house to be replaced with 2 sizes 2 small underwear and socks with holes, running into BM at kindy, running into BM at childcare, running into BM at uni, running into BM at the shops, adding up my and DF's lawyer bills so far (in excess of $50 000 and still not even close to being settled), having my CS reduced from $500 p/m to $80 p/m, having DF's CS raised from $800 p/m to $1000 p/m, being constantly reminded that your DF chose one of the most vile women in the world to procreate with.... the list can go on... I HAVE NOTHING! ah but I do feel better now I've got that off my chest

I agree with you Silver, when you pay out hundreds of dollars a month, I've been looking for the advantages, to somehow feel good about the large chunk of our household budget walking out the door, but haven't been able to find anything much that the skids bring to the table (certainly nothing that makes me feel good about losing a grand a month).
