Default Sandra Bullock's Oscar acceptance speech

Anyone watch the Oscars?
Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for "The Blind Side".
In her acceptance speech she said...
"I would like to thank what this film is about for me which are the moms that take care of the babies and the children no matter where they come from. Those moms and parents never get thanked. "

She went on to thank her own mother too.

I think she is my favourite stepmum in the whole world lol.

Yes I thought she made a smart, sincere, funny speech. It was really nice that she gave a mention to those who look after the children and babies

i LOVE sandra bullock! she's absolutely gorgeous and the epitomy of class. it's pretty cool to know that she understands exactly what it feels like to be a SM. maybe if more celebrities spoke out about what it's like to be a SM, people would FINALLY begin to pay attention and realise we aren't evil after all!

The film is about a woman who finds a young black man on the road, who has nowhere to go, an outcast from the foster system, and she and her family take him in, take care of him, and help him get into football, which I believe he ends up doing very well in.

So when she made her acceptance speech, I think I was thinking more in terms of relevance to the movie, and foster carers, rather than applying her SM role over the top of it. I hadn't actually thought of it from a SM role.

Today she was quoted as saying (after people gave a raspberry to the gold dress, which - while gold is not my favourite colour - I thought looked great on her) "My stepdaughter chose that dress..."

I don't know - I reckon there could have been an element about her own personal experience - I read they were having a really hard time with her husband's ex and were having huge issues with custody etc with the daughter...

Yes, I thought it to be about the movie, but then also about her own experiences, and then her own mother.
That's one fulltime stepmum I would love to have on here.

Just goes to show, even famous people or people with lots of money still have the same old problems that we do.
